Default What a mess ... Designer Pro 6 templates

I have just downloaded the updated Designer Pro6 with the new templates and plugins......
All i get now is a violation warning and the prog will not open at all ....
What a mess .even when i tick all the boxes when i first opened it they still came up when i next started the prog ....then when I used the plugin it all goes wrong .

I am going back to the old one I think ........

Mike what plugins? The new release provides bug fixes and the ability to download templates.

The prog started ok ......but when i tried the plugins (chrome) i got the violation

Now the prog will not start ....it keeps going to the violation and then shuts down .

so frustrating after waiting all this time.

EDIT..... I am running the repair at the mo to see if i can get it to open.

Just run the repair and the violation still stops the prog from running ..

Dumping the prog now ..... not impressed.

and now I have used 2 installs out of my allocated installs .

You may install on the same hardware many times. The limit is 3 home PC's.

Have you also logged a support ticket with Xara?

Shot in the dark: If you had the option set to back up open documents on close and reopen them on startup, it may be crashing because it's opening the document with the plugin that causes the crash.

If that's the case and someone here knows the registry tweak to turn that option off (it's on by default I think) that may solve your startup crash problem.

Yes that sounds right.....as i did a reinstall and it opened ok ..as soon as I tried the plugin it gave me the violation message.
and after that I couldn't open it at all ....like you suggest it is opening the same file with the plugin.

    Hopeless.

I have done a system restore and i am back with old Designer 6
