Default arrgh. Why can't I import images in their original size?

I have an image that I want to import and XWD6 keeps aking it into a 500x322 image.

I realize this is great for web applications but I'm trying to do something else and making it bigger after importing it isn't what I want. I want it to be the size it is when I import it.

A quick check of the help menu (image sizing) mentions that "most: times the smaller image is fine and so XWD does it automatically for you but doesn't mention the how to override it for the times that aren't "most".

I want to try to see if I can make a picture into a background image by making the image so large that the tiling isn't visible. It's an experiment and I;m still working with the thread I posed yesterday but I wanted to see if this is possible, which is sort of a separate issue.

Is there any way to import an large image in the size it is natively?

Web Designer 5 and 6 do not have the option to import original size images.

You can download a copy of XaReg 1.4.0.4 from the post in this link:
    http://www.talkgraphics.com/showpost...3&postcount=78

You can use XaReg to turn off the resize function.

I can verify that it is exactly the same in XDP6 as above.

drwyd, I tried what you posted and for whetever reason, as intuitive as it seems, it doesn;y work. Actually I tried it before posting this because I thought there'd be some way to override the auto-resize and i thought i found it in the interface you posted.

    alas, no such luck.

so, forever hopeful, I decided it THERE SOMEWHERE i just can't find it or I;m using it wrong.

It appears that there's a separate program I can download to override it which suggests that, no, there's no native way to override XWD's auto-resize function.
