web forms-widget wd6

Hi

I must be doing something very stupid (not hard) . My first try to inport/embed any widget in WD6 - contact form v2 google. I drag and drop it across to my webpage ( pre set template).In the pop up window I Click source code. create a place holder select input html and paste. Preview the page in wd6 and nothing is there? What am i doing wrong? also how do you get the 'form' information to send to a particular email account you must have to alter it some how to 'link' to an email address.
