Hi, My intent is not to promote one UI colour over another. IMHO both have their pros and cons.
1. Select rectangle, quick shape, or circle tool.
2. Use the current item shown in the Editable Items drop down or select another.
3. Create object by dragging to desired value(s) on the fly watching the value(s) increment to the right of the Editable Items drop down.
4. Release the mouse button once the value(s) are reached.
Comparison of Light and Dark UI when performing actions above:
1. Both UIs - While dragging an object the increment buttons appeared disabled. Once the mouse button is released they appear enabled again. Can't drag and click at the same time.
2. Light UI - Whether dragging or once mouse button is released the background of the value field is light coloured. Field always appears enabled and easily readable, including when trying to set a value on the fly.
3. Dark UI - While dragging, background of the value field is dark. Field appears disabled and while values do change harder to see. More difficult to set a value on the fly. Once mouse button is released background changes to light colour. Field appears enabled and easily read.
If the background of the value field in the dark UI was always light as in the other UI, it would always appear enabled and easy to read when trying to set a value on the fly with one of these tools.
Similarly, when using the transparency and fill tools the handle/resolution field and the handle colour/grain field (fill tool only) backgrounds are dark. They always "feel" disabled even though the text can be seen changing, although not readily, when actions are performed. Is this intentional or could they also be set lighter?
