Remove Introduction

I've set my default template and everything seems to work correctly.

However, whenever I open XDP6 it opens 2 documents by default. My template (which I want), and Introduction.xar (which I don't).

How do I stop introduction.xar opening ..... Is there a setting somewhere that I've missed?

Keith in Options select the Backups tab.

Untick the Backup open documents on program close and restore on program start.

The timed backups will still function but you will have only your template open upon program start.

Would you believe that didn't work ..... Now it only opens introduction.xar.

I've closed introduction.xar, opened the template, resaved the default template (and yes, I did check the "Use as default" box), closed the template, closed the program ......... Re-open the program, and it opens with introduction.xar

Very frustrating (and curious)!!!

It seems to use the default template correctly, as when I close drawings and hit new, it will always bring up the correct drawing template, however on program launch it always opens introduction.xar.

Is anyone else seeing this?

Do you try running Designer 6 as administrator?.

are you still using the trial? - I found the same thing happening until I bought it and used the serial number.

Yes Jose, It was run as administrator.

Yes Glenn, for the moment, it's still a trial ..... but I expect that to change shortly. I'll let you know if that fixes it ....

Keith I was assuming you had already unlocked the trial by entering a valid serial number.

Until the program is registered the Introduction will always be the first document opened on program start.

I still have trial versions running on my test machines and they always open with Introduction.

My registered versions on my primary machine open with my default document. Since the release of version 5, I find it best to have registered copies of the standard and Pro installed. Makes answering questions much easier when working with all members of TG.

Yes I can confirm that.

As a general note, it would be useful if when posting question if members could indicate whether they are still using the software in trial mode or of it is unlocked.
Unlocking the trial writes additional information to the Windows registry.
