Xara Xone Workbook 83 - New Xara Designer Pro 6 - First Look.

Xara Xtreme is now Xara Designer and it comes in two versions, Magix Photo and Graphic Designer 6 and Xara Designer Pro 6.

This Special Edition Workbook (didn't I just do one of these a few weeks ago? ) focuses on Xara Designer Pro 6. There is a lot of cool new stuff plus all the great website tools that were introduced in Xara Web Designer 6.

Gary, thanks for the preview. Even though I just skimmed through it, I enjoyed every minute. Very well done, especially the slideshow preview. Plus, the preview showed us that XARA (actually) listens to it's customers. I have downloaded the trial of Version 6 and will play when I have time (can't wait)

Great review of a great product.

I'm trying to use the slideshow feature in DP6.
I read your how to do it in workbook 83. Sounds very simple.
I must be missing something. Here's what I'm doing.

I opened a new page in my web site file.
I dragged 5 photos on to the page.
I opened "web Properties" and clicked on Image.
I set pop-up and all the photo pop-up options.
As instructed, I made some pop corn, pressed "export and preview web page" and all I get is a web page with 5 photos on it.

Do I need a placeholder on the page?
Do I need to select all the photos and then go to "web properties?"
Do I have to publish the page before the slideshow works?
I tried the first 2, I have not tried publishing it yet. Peter

Yes, all photos have to be selected when you set the slide-show options.

Thanks, Steve. I clicked each photo one at a time and set the properties, clicking Apply after each setting and finally "ok". Then clicked "export and view" and all I see is the photos exactly as I see them in DP6. I get no slideshow framing. I tried clicking all photos at the same time; same results. If I hover on a photo, the arrow turns to a finger and when I click, it opens a browser window the same as the "export and view" window. The display is only the picture I clicked on nothing else and no slide show. I'm sure I'm missing a simple step Peter
