Web Designer 6 Design Gallery issues

Hi,

Obviously I'm missing something. I upgraded to WD6 when it came out and downloaded the updated design gallery for 6 and ran it.

Now when I go into the design gallery (File...New from Designs Gallery) all I see are:
Introduction (Download)
Beta Theme (download)
Form Widgets (Download)
E-commerce Widgets (Download)
Media Widgets (Download)
Social Networking Widgets (Download)
Other Widgets (Download)

I'm not sure where to find the old Designs Gallery entries, much less the new ones talked about at http://www.xara.com/us/products/webdesigner/templates/.

If I try to drag one of the entries from the gallery to a blank page, in most cases nothing happens.

Ben if you uninstalled WD5 then the previous designs will be gone from your PC.
If you still have WD5 installed simply press the 'Disc Designs' button in the Designs Gallery window of WD6 and browse to:

C:\Program Files\Xara\Xara Web Designer\Clipart

Then press 'Add'

Hi Sledger,

Thanks for the reply. Doing that, I was able to get the old Intro and Beta themes back. I saw a number of other folders in that as well; I'm assuming I can click on those and add them as well?

What about the new themes that were supposed to come with WD 6? Where did those run off to?

Did you download them?
They are not included with the WD6 installer.

I thought I had; the file I got was webdesigner6_templates.exe, file size about 165 meg. Ran it without problems but nothing much showed up.

Sounds about right.
Check :
C:\Program Files\Xara\Xara Web Designer 6\Clipart

How many folders of clipart are listed?

46. Shouldn't they have automatically come up when I ran the template install?

Yes they should have.
You may at this stage need to use the manual method described on post#2
