    Default Butterfly

I was sitting outside minding my own business when this butterfly suddenly landed a couple of metres away. I haven't seen many of these around and I have never seen one prop in front of me. Well, I went and got the camera, thinking I would have little hope that the butterfly would stay around long. Well, contrary to the hope, he was still there and allowed me to take several photos. Gradually moving closer I even got a couple of macros.

The detail of the flutterby in the macro shot is really good. I see you keep your lawn tidy, too. Wish I could say the same.

Nice shot, beautiful colors on the butterfly. I have a hard time getting good shots of them, they always fly away just before I'm ready to pull the trigger

    Thanks Bob and Ontos.
Bob, the macro makes the lawn look like a jungle!!!! Happened to have cut it two days before the photo occurred.

Great shots Rupert. Monarchs are one of my favorite butterflies.
