Lightbulb Creating Clouds with Xara Xtreme

Clouds are not an easy task to create with great realism for me, I've managed somes acceptable clouds now and then, but I've never been totally convinced. Perhaps because it's me who has spent the time creating them and knowing how I created them I'm not really seeing them for the first time as the finished clouds..

Anyway, I thought I'd throw this into the ring and see what other people come up with.

My task is to not use anything other than Xara's tools so that eventually I have a system for 100% Xara cloudscapes.

I made a set of cloud brushes that I use when I need clouds. I posted them in the brushes forum. There are two bushes in the set one produces puffy clouds and the other elongated wispy clouds. By changing transparency and colours the sky is the limit!( I just couldn't resist that )

What cloud type are you wanting to make Steve?

I'm not overly concerned to be honest. Any

'Realistic' - easily 'repeatable' and of course, 'random'

I can never remember names of the cloud types, so I never try

I think you have created an oxymoron Steve.

Easily repeatable, realistic, random clouds in a vector drawing application.

    This example is easy.

    Simply select the clipview object.

Drag and right click to drop copies. The more copies that overlap the more dense the effect.

    This example is less easy.

    Select the group of ellipses.

Place a copy and rescale or leave as is. Repeat as needed.
