    Default Planes of Fame

My daughter and I went to an airshow on Sunday and could not resist taking pictures, I calculate 1486 pictures in all. This is the two I like best. P-51 Mustang & P-38 Lightening.

Here are a few from The Gathering of Mustangs and Legends airshow from a few years back. Not the best quality as they were snagged from my Picasa Album, but the beauty is in the subject . Over 100 Mustangs at the event. They had a 51 in the air at once.
You know your in for a good show when the Thunderbirds fly at 11AM and are not the main attraction

    Heritage flight w/ 3 Mustangs...
And one of my all time favorites, the Lancaster.

The Stearman flight was one of my favorites. Note angle of smoke trail; there was no wind that day.

Nice to see the Lancaster still flying Originals built some miles from here in Oldham, my Dad trained as a navigator in the Manchester - predecessor of the Lanc - as I recall [ I wasn't around then mind you!] .
