My first Xara Web Designer Website need help.

It is uploaded.

Problem is before official launched next week, friends tried this website saying the downloading time is too long and they will leave the page.

I have optimized the jpeg and png accordingly.

I have only use 1 flash as banner on the first page. the rest of page has changed to jpeg.

Is there anyway to cut down the download time and speed up when people visit this website other than above action already done?

Via wireless router no problem for me in the uk took less than 2 second to download at 1.54mbps download speed tested via www.speed test.net

site looks fine

Wireless Router here in Canada and about the same. No problems. Lots of graphics so if they are on dialup or non broadband...maybe that's why?

Faster than the Apple site

Its not super fast but not slow by any means

I have only use 1 flash as banner on the first page.

I see two flash banners.
One along the top and one vertical flash on the left (Amazon Widget).

The site loads in reasonable time for me too.

The page certainly sucks up CPU cycles though - makes the browser very sluggish. I don't know if it's just the flash banner or something else. I suspect it's the banner, in which case it's probably contributing to the problems your friends have. Flash banners don't need to suck the performance from the page.

Hi all, thanks for all the help internationally.

1) Remove Pop Up?

My friends were asking me to withdraw the pop up for all the 14 colours (which i used more then 40 hrs ) saying this slow down - at the middle of this page 'click here to see large image' where I do pop up for all the 14 colours..

Can all expert here give advise whether to remove pop out or not?

Tears dropping ... ha, is the best part I have played so far with xara..
