Hi Trukkerz,
I think the problem is too many softgroups.
I removed all your softgroups and links then applied links only to the objects that are not text. I grouped the rectangle, shape of the girl, and the text on one layer at a time. Then a softgroup was applied to the two groups on both layers at once. The same was done for the desk objects.

Actually I selected two groups on two layers and applied one softgroup.
You make both layers visible and selectable and marquee select. This gets each group on both layers so you can apply the softgroup. After applying the softgroup make the MouseOver layer no longer visible.
