    Default Where's The Player?

    Tried to import an MP4 into a test web page. I got a "Play" arrow but the online manual says I should have a volume control, and other controls which I can't seem to find.

    Anyone know how to get this to work?

    Thanks,

    Lin

    Hi Lin,

    The controls should appear along with the large encircled PLAY arrow as shown in the placeholder screenshot below.

    If the movie resolution exceeds the width of the page (as shown) you have two options, [1] increase the width of your page by dragging the right edge, or [2] reduce the playback resolution of the movie simply by resizing the player 'placeholder' via the handles, WD will update the placeholder when you release the mouse button.

    More skins would be appreciated for the player. I'd like to use a black or darker skin to go with the website style - and a no controls skin that has autoplay by default which is used by many websites in the header area.

    You can enable autoplay via the code in the placeholder.

    Yes, I know, but it still shows the controls. I'm talking about a clean video window with no controls, only the video.

    Draw a rectangle the same colour as your page background and cover the controls like this:
    Attached Files Attached Files

    You will also need to add the following parameter to the EMBED tag:
    wmode="transparent"

    Current the Xara code only places the WMODE param in the OBJECT tag, which won't work in all browsers.
