    Thumbs up Re: Spiny...Spiny

    Nice effect!

It so happens I've been monkeying around with the 3d tool in Xara Xtreme Pro v.4. to create this effect.

I've been tasked to create a rotating 'bug' - our studio logo to be placed in the lower third of the screen for our TV news broadcast; like what FOX network displays.

I've nailed down the 3D part of it but not the rotation. I have an option to attempt the rotation in Adobe After Effects or Flash.

I'd like to find out if I can somehow render this effect right in Xara; then acquire some exportable format to the character generator (Pinnacle software).

Any tutorials, procedures, instructions will be greatly appreciated.

    Thnx in advance.

    Hi rafsgrafx,

Questions relating to Xara Xtreme animation should be posted in the Xtreme Flash forum

However as a quick note, Xtreme's 3D tool does not include any animation capabilities. Tweening an animation to give a result as shown in post#1 will not be easy or even possible in Xtreme.

However, if you have 3D6 then you can easily do the project.

I couldn't resist the challenge. The lighting confused me for a while and still needs more. It has more flaws I need to work on but I do think that I can do it.
    So far so good.

    Hi Salaam,

Is it possible for you to do a tutorial on how you did this in only XX?

    Thanks,

    I'm glad you like it.
I don't have time at the moment.
Maybe if you remind me next week.
