Locked colour font? WD6

My page has a purple and black fonts i have just gone to select a black font to red by selecting text and clicking the font colours at the bottom and it does not highlight nor does the small box appear in the colour box at the bottom. if you place a cursor on the text the small box does appear on black and purple but you just can't change it


i have i locked the colours some how?

Hi scruffy,

Perhaps you have locked the layer?

Open the layer gallery (F10) and check for closed (red) padlock icons.
Click the icon once to unlock the layer.

all are unlocked but i can change the font colour if i use the colour pop up and then set fill colour....before i noticed this i may have clicked ctrl and shift and clicked the mouse in some order....not sure if this is relevant....just checked X5 also on this computer and seems fine

closed and opened it a few times no change used a new document behaves the same

got annoyed with WD6 not allowing me to highlight and change...de installed WD6...re-installed it downloaded templates.....just the same arrrghh

If i highlight text then double click the colour pallette at the bottom no colour change occurs (except set fill and set line colour pop up occurs) but if i select the colour picker after highlight the text then drop onto a colour pallet at the bottom the small box appears on the pallette and the text changes......

As i have only just started with WD6 is this the normal way to change text in Wd6? Not sure if i have done text highlight since i imported the site from x5. In xara5 you select text and double click the colour pallette.

If this is abnormal as per my previous post could my mouse clicking +/- shift control/scroll have accidentally switched of colour section using double clicking of the mouse? any ideas?

The popup menu for the color line is normal.

You can turn off the popup menu using XaReg. http://www.xaraxone.com/html/shareware.html

Thank you for the reply. The pop up does not bother me really its the absence of double clicking the pallette to select a colour that i think was there before but not now, or is WD6 different than X5 in this respect and its me thats looosing the plot

The color line works identically in both XX5 and WD6, the last change to the color line was made to add the popup menu back in Xtreme version 3.2.4.

In that case something has gone wrong as the two are not the same now for me as my previous posts outline what i dont understand is how de installling and the reinstall did not re set wd6 colour palette selection usong the mouse

Have you perhaps used XaReg to disable the popup menu in Xtreme?

I have the two programs configured differently.
