Cannot open WD5 File in WD6

Just purchased (downloaded) and installed WD6, launched it, clicked on affiliate program check box, then went to open an existing WD5 file. Gives me Serious Access Violation exception at 0x0000000, then error No 6b86e8f9-1e20-49e2-b6a2-1611dc4af0ae. I cannot open any WD5 web file. Is this an installation problem? Do I need to uninstall WD5?

WD6 can open all WD5 files.
WD6 can co-exist with WD5 or any other Xara software.

I understand that XWD6 can open XWD5 files, but my installation does not. In fact, as soon as I click the 'Open' menu option I get the 'Serious' error. I am also suspicious in that every time I launch XWD6 it displays the Affiliate Program dialogue, even though I've checked the desired option previously. I have attached the log the app creates upon creating the error. Maybe that will give a clue as to what the problem might be.

That's exactly what I experienced. Change the skin color as suggested and you should be fine.

Xara support is actively working on it.

Thanks, JDArchitecture, that did it -- I wonder why. Now the working surface looks exactly like XWD5!!
