anchor from external site to anchor point in X5 web

i have named a text anchor point in my website and want to link to it from another site not made in xara but it does not work....can you help.. do you have to make an object and place heref code in it at the point where the anchor should be?

Some rules to follow:
- the name you apply should conform to html syntax requirements of the ID property: the name can contain only alphabetic letters, digits, "-" and "_" characters and must begin with any letter except for "x" or "X";
- append the object name to the page URL with the number sign, for example:
http://www.mysite.com/index.htm#MyObjectName

Thanks for the reply the steps i have redone can you confirm this is correct

1. selected/highlighted the text area in xara5 (or selct image) to anchor to -right click-names-choose a name so i can remember i have choosen e.g anchorpayment as a name (so i can recognise it later).-add-close

2. the url link form the other site will be www.sitename.com/page-name.htm#anchorpayment

is this right?
