background problems

Hi
I'd be grateful if anybody can help. I'm fairly new to Web Designer (which I'm very impressed by so far). My problem is background image placement.
I've added a screernshot of the preview, hopefully showing my difficulties.
I've used a jpeg from the bitmap gallery (1401 pix wide) to act as a background. However despite its width it starts tiling (red cross) on the left edge of the page (shown by a dashed white line).
In Dreamweaver and Webplus a background automatically centres itself and tiling begins at the sides depending on the width of the image. How do I achieve this in WD?

Thanks so much for directing me to the threads - the Symetrical Background Resizing one was particularily useful.
While I'm on, does WD has an Estimated Page Download Speed function, and where do I go to preview in common browsers (IE, FF, Safari etc)?

Hi Colin,

You will need to export your site to your Hard Drive first and then view them in your various browsers.
