Default Photo Gallery Widget & Layers

My website is progressing quite well, thanks to all you helpers here on the Forum. But, I have reached another sticky impasse.

On a "Slideshow" page, I have a list of topics for which there should be (via a link) a corresponding layer containing photos .

I dragged & dropped a photo Gallery widget onto the first layer "town", then copied and pasted it in place on a second layer "chateau".

When I came to replace each individual image on the widget of the FIRST layer ,I became aware that this also changed on the SECOND.
If I changed an image on the SECOND layer it was reproduced on the FIRST !
Why is this, and can I get each widget acting independently from the others ?
    Can anyone please help ?
    Thanks......................

    Hi Paul

You can only operate 1 slide show per page, not aware of any workaround that is the general rule of thumb.

    Hi Paul

LOL unfortunately so, keep an eye on this thread though someone may well chime in with a workaround, I am not aware of one yet though Unless you use some "other" software to generate the slide show that is.

    Hi Chris,
I could use either "Flash Slideshow Maker Pro" or "Proshow Producer" which I have used often in conjunction with Adobe Dreamweaver (e.g. http://www.euromayenne.org)

No, I'm NOT stinking rich - it's stuff registered to me when I worked back in England and I was allowed to hang onto it !!

Now I fancy using something far more straightforward for a change like WD6.
I don't know enough yet to see whether or not I can get output from this software embedded into a WD6 page ?

I am not familiar with either of those, the general rule of thumb if they output a flash (swf) file or even a bit of html code it can be incorporated no problem into WD via a placeholder (do a quick forum search you will find tons and tons of posts on placeholders).

Lets ask the good people what would you do?

You should get a few responses so keep an eye on this thread.

    Hope that helps

Not 100% certain what you are calling a 'widget' here, perhaps you mean one of the 'Photo Gallery' templates in the Designer gallery?

Or are you referring to the new HighSlide popup photo feature where selected photos can be set as a slide show?

In the meantime, here's how I have setup multiple slide shows on a single page linked from a thumbnail on the mouseoff layer.
The slide show set can be stacked or in a row.

Does this help? Or am I off track?
