Nav bar madness

I am going potty the last 2 days ...my nav bars seem to have a mind of their own. I have created them and removed all of them (several times) I created new fron the template stretch bar made triple sure all the links are correct to the pages and the anchor links and removed/deleted the xara link that pops up initiallt in link to web address. Then i have repeated them on all pages. if you use them in preview and jump about on different pages they default back to the xara site url that has been deleted...does not matter if its a page link or anchor link ARRRRGGGHHH

also made single nav bars and copied and pasted them to the pages and the same occurs

any ideas i am about to launch my lap top!
