Default Blend Profile Option: Discard last object (suggestion)

When blending shapes around a circle (or other closed shape) the last object generated overlaps with the first object. There are ways around this such as converting the result to editable objects then removing the extra object but this essentially flattens the blend. It would be very convenient to have an option to remove the last (or first) item in the blend while maintaining the blend and the position of the the other objects as if the discarded object still existed. The no. of blend steps should include the discarded object for consistency.

You can see in the attached image that it would much better if the first item were discarded, although in some circumstance the last would be the better choice.

Since the blend position profile adjusts the spacing of the objects in the blend I think this would be an excellent place for a new option to automatically discard the last or first object in a blend. However, since it could potentially be well used (borders, frames, logos etc.) perhaps it might be better placed next to the blend steps where it would be more obvious.

Since this point was touched on in 2001 in this thread it may be in a request list already but it came up again in 2008 in this thread and users were still having issues with this feature.

when you blend along an unclosed line [curve] xtreme maps the blend between the two end nodes

when you blend round the outline of a closed shape it starts and finishes the mapping on the same node - hence the overlapping shapes

perhaps it would be useful to be able to define start and end nodes for the mapping...
