Masking possible?

Hi I haven't been able to find anything on this, but I was wondering how to create a mask... I want to create a spyglass that gives the illusion of magnifying the map below it.

The Image is a fast example of what I plan to do.

It would be a mask that masks-off the hidden enlarged map, The Mouse becomes the spyglass and moves with your mouse movements.

Am I asking too much of this software?

This is beyond Xara Web Designer capabilities.
You'd need something like Adobe Flash authoring to create an interactive graphic like this.
