Thumbs down White line artifacts when exporting as a bitmap

Seeing an odd issue with Xara 5 when exporting my image as a bitmap. Artifacts, in the form of horizontal white lines, with a width of 1 pixel, randomly positioned, ofvarious lengths, are appearing in the image.

Makes no difference whether I export as PNG, TIFF or BMP. Changing the antialiasing, on or off in the export dialog, does nothing to help. Nor does exporting with or without alpha.

    Anyone else seen this behaviour?

What can I try to alleviate it?

[Searched the forum for artifact / white lines and found nothing]

I took your file as downloaded and exported as .jpg and .png and saw one tiny artifact (had to zoom in to see it). Removed the angled background and exported and no artifacts. I'm assuming it has something to do with the background cutting through the graphic.

EDIT: I do have a question: Why are you exporting as a bitmap? When I export as a pdf, I don't get any artifacts. see attached.

Totally agree with Jim. When I looked at the newsletter I thought why not PDF?

    Thanks for the help.

I went the PDF route in the end.

I was originally using a bitmap simply because I had done so in the past, and knew that the printer would handle it correctly.

Still find it peculiar that Xtreme sometimes produces these artifacts though. It is not just on this file, but also others, of various complexities in the past.
