Steve you left off a choice for people like me that don't browse ebay and don't think it is full of criminals.

I browse, sell & buy. Over recent experiences I would say it is full of criminals but using certain criteria for selling it reduces the chance of ripped of. I would still rather use Amazon for most of buying and selling.

The listed choices seem rather limited Steve.

I have checked "Yes! I am a regular buyer - it's great!" However, that's not strictly true. I have never sold anything on ebay, and am registered so that makes everything else wrong. I am not a regular buyer, but have bought 31 items over the last 5 years. I don't think it's great, but do think that handled carefully it works.

Ebay is too big an entity to put up with criminals. If it starts to go wrong and people think they can't trust it, it will fall down very quickly.

I'd go along with that. I've bought and sold on eBay, but it's not great for everything.

I've voted for the top option, but I'm a lapsed regular buyer, inasmuch as I bought 6 items in about six weeks three years ago, but I rarely even think of using it now. I think I would rather buy from Amazon or similar and would only use ebay if the object wasn't available anywhere else and only if the seller had an A1 reputation.
I'd like to offload a few hundred vinyl record albums, a lot of which are very rare, but I think the risk is quite high, especially having to invest in packaging and high postal rates and then finding that the money isn't forthcoming.

E-Bay is best for selling. Real bargins are hard to find, though there
may be some, and prices are generally just as high
as buying at a retailer, imo.

I purchased software from a seller with 99.9% rating who had been there
since 2002, and very few complaints.

    The software was a knock-off.
Tips to recognize a knock-off are:
Software is in plain white sleeve, no box, not shrink wrapped and no manual.
This applies even though it may have a serial number that can be registered.

So you are actualy saying that you sell your stuff too expensive?

And I think it is full of criminals, it probably isn`t, but I think it is.
