    Default Screw Drawing

Hi everyone, I am new to this side of the forum, didn't know it existed until this morning. I have been working on this screw for a while now and finally have a decent drawing, some of you may have different opinions.
Anyway this screw has been in the making for a long time. I was away from the computer for a long time. My many thanks goes out to Black Panther for all the help he has given in this project. He is a great artist, and a great teacher. Thanks BP.

I would really like to have some opinions, so all comments are very welcome.

    Carl,
    Welcome to the forum.
Great graphic of the screw. Different dimensions to a normal screw.
Hope it is the first of many posts.

Excellent first drawing. You chose a complex and difficult subject/viewpoint for you first attempt and seemed to have pulled it off very well.
What you going to do next?

Many thanks to all who have commented on my screw head. The screw is for a 1911 pistol grip. Called a grip screw. The head of the screw will be hand engraved with the circular pattern shown on the drawing.

Many of you have ask, what's next. At the present time I have nothing in mind. But I like Xara 5 so well, I'm sure I will come up with something real soon.
This screw head was really my first completed drawing with Xara, and I dearly love the program. I just have to learn how to communicate with it. I know eventually it will come easy, but at the present time I still need help, and it looks like I have come to the right place. Never seen so many people that are willing to share their knowledge and artistic ability.

Not what I was expecting after looking at the title, but a good first effort Carl, well done!

What sort of screwdriver would you use with this? Or, judging by your description, is it a specialised screwdriver?

My apologizes for the title, I can certainly see what you mean after you mentioned it. The title should have read "Drawing of a Screw". I would change it if I knew how.

About the screwdriver, it is an Allen head, or Hex as some folks call it. It is in a common size, nothing special about it.

Thanks for posting, and pointing out the title, I will be a little more careful in the future.

    Thanks Carl.

Looking at it again, I see where I went wrong. The curved lines around the top of the screw made me think it was something else but clearly, it is an Allen screw.

Oh, and there's nothing wrong with the title, I tend to find a double 'entendre wherever I look!
