Photoshop error: File not compatible with this version

Hi, to everyone

i have a problem in cs3 photoshop i made a in software but after save and close. next it didn't open in photoshop i tried a lot but couldn't.

i have attached the message which it shows during opening.

so please guide me to open this file because i took too much to make this file.

Photoshop makes saving PNG files a big deal judging by the amount of time it takes the program to save them. Try previewing the file in Windows Viewer, if that program will not show the image it has got corrupt when saving. Also a long shot check Photoshop temp file has been deleted when you closed down Photoshop this can cause all kinds of problems if left behind. Temp file will be on your scratch disc, if you did not set a scratch disc it will be on C drive.

You are trying to open it in the same photoshop you made it in?

If you can post up the file - someone may be able to open it if that is possible...

the size of the file is 450mb using mac os. preview still showing when i going to open this file after 10 seconds it shows that message.

I take it the answer to my question is 'yes'? - and that the file is a .PSD [photoshop native format], you don't actually say which format you saved it in...... did you use default settings to save?

I don't use a mac... so on that side I cannot help....

Sorry I had a bad nights sleep that is my explanation for thinking you wanted to open a PNG file. As Steve stated that is a big big file and your computer may be on the limit when it tries to open the file. I think it may be worth a go trying another computer if possible with more ram etc.
