Default Bill Proctor's B&W Harbour pics

Hi it has been a long time since I last posted any photos!
My hometown, Gibsons Landing, British Columbia has always been a favorite place to take photographs. One place that holds significance is the wonderful, busy boat harbour. I especially tried to include these great cloud formations on a bright sunny day. Hope you enjoy them. Thank you.

BW photographs still have a special appeal don't they Bill?

And you are very lucky to have some very nice scenic photo opportunities in your location.
I live in a rural area where there is little more than, well - rural stuff.

BTW: For members who don't yet know, Frances and Bill know each other a little bit, that's why she thanked Bruce for the comments

Thumbs up Re: Bill Proctor's B&W Harbour pics

It's good to see another series of pictures from you, Bill. As Steve said, there's something special about a well taken B&W photo (just ask Ansel Adams!) and your subject is well suited for this mode. Good eye. I take it you're still using your, now trusty, Fuji Finepix S1500 for the shots.

I'm thinking that it must be about time for the car show, again.

    Thanks for posting,
    Harry

Thank you for your kind comments. I grew up on B & W photography! My dad was a weekly newspaper publisher on the Coast here. I started darkroom work in high school, but really took off after grad doing the bulk of darkroom work at my dad's paper. I used to find it fascinating how I could manipulate a weak negative and after a little developing magic on the enlarger and dev. trays how I could transform it into something usable or even very respectable! These days Xara has all the same capabilities but better & easier...and there's not that God-awful smell of chemicals! Or someone walking in a flipping on the light! "Ahhhhh!" - oh those were the days! :-

I rather miss the smell of developer and fixer. Can't say I miss those "Black cat in a coalmine at midnight" sheets of black paper when someone turned on the lights. Or the pain of pupils snapping closed.
