Default In the dark corners at night

After posting this fellow in the stop and post I wasn't sure if anyone would be interested in him. Since I spent so much time working on him I decided to post him anyway.

I thought I was done but I just decided that I do want to add the extra pair of arms at his sides...more insect-like and more like my original drawing. He'd have a hard time grabbing anything with those fixed arms so he'd need the extra pair. When I do them I'll repost here.

I used a few texture maps in this. My first real foray into using them. They are easy to use and create some interesting effects.

Hmmm ... is it a blood-sucking insect or a politician? Super image at any rate

Your creature and its setting are FANTASTIC Burpee! What an imagination you have, I'm really impressed with this.

A excellent creature and very well produced. A couple of extra legs and it would resemble the model flea we use on top of our Christmas tree.

I think that is superb Nancy - it is very like some of the [european] comic book stuff I spend a lot of time with, it has an excellent atmosphere.

Extra arms I'm not convinced about - it would make it more insect-like I guess, but the drawing as it stands is for me an excellent anthropomorphic characterisation

In any event very well done indeed

I love it. A great looking mosquito like creature and the background is very well done too.

Excellent use of textures Nancy. Looks like a foggy night with the street lamp in the background. Very frightening bug and the atmosphere makes it more so.

Thank you everyone. I thought he might be too 'icky' for the holidays and wasn't sure how he'd be received. I'm glad everyone likes him.

The inspiration for my drawing of him were those large 4-armed electrical towers along the highways here. His upper arms are fixed and he can not lower his arms, thus he needs another pair for grabbing, etc. If he looks good with them I'll repost.
