    You are both absolutely correct. During the Day of the Dead and other holidays, people make "sugar skulls". They are little skulls molded out of a mixture of sugar and meringue powder. They are decorated in many different ways but typically they are very colorful and bright.

    For those of us who like skull art, its a good way to incorporate other influences into our art.
