Default URBAN D-K (My exploration into Grunge composition)

Like most things, this graphic started out as something different before devolving into what turned out to be a grunge composition. This is a bit of an inclusion and departure from most of the other drawings I've done with Xara Xtreme. While creating this drawing I, kind of, just went with the flow. And what do you know, I liked the result. My daughter thinks it's 'coolio'! Maybe someone else will, too. So, without further delay I present to you... URBAN D-K.

    Thanks for lookin',
    Harry

Great job on the grunge. It has a cool chaotic look to it.

Nice job, Harry. That would make a great poster.

Thanks for the encouraging comments Gary, Javier, Nancy and Gray. Constructive criticism and suggestions are just as welcome. I'm trying a 'create and learn approach' while experimenting with some different artistic techniques.

It's funny you should mention a poster Gray. I already printed this out on US letter sized photo paper to see how it would look. The text came out a bit lighter than what's shown on the computer display. After I tone down the transparency a tad I'm seriously contemplating having it printed in one of the following sizes: 16" x 20", 17" x 22" or 24" x 36". Where to put it will be the deciding factor. I guess it would also depend on whether or not I find a frame I like.

Off to work on something else,
    Harry

17"x 22" sounds like a good size with maybe one of those frameless glass covers to protect it. Post a pic Harry, if you get it framed up.

OK Gray, you've talked me into it, 17 x 22 in. it is. I stopped by the local super center and tried to find a borderless frame but had no luck. Instead I picked up a cheap frame with a 1/2" slip on black border. I'll continue to look for a nice glass frame but, for now, this one will do. Now all I have to do is get it printed out.

    This'll be a minor challenge,
    Harry

All framed up and ready to go! I must say, I'm more than pleased with the way the poster size print turned out. It took me a little while to figure out the correct print settings from XXP5 and my printer (Epson Stylus Pro 3800). Thankfully the printer driver has a 'Print Preview' check box so, after it was all said and done, I didn't waste a single sheet of 17" x 22" photo paper.

Now I'll just have to find the right spot to permanently hang the poster inside the house.

    Way ,
    Harry
