    Default Flying Wing

This was an illustration I did to see what this Armstrong Whitworth flying wing design may have looked like if built. The design idea was put forward in the early fifties but the A.W.56 lost out to the other British V bombers. The aircraft are vector while the background is a raster painting.

Thanks for the glimpse into your personal airspace,

Fabulous work as usual, Gray. Especially considering the plane never existed. We are privileged to see it. Are the vapour trails raster?

Thanks all for your positive comments. The advantage of doing a "what if" is you can't get the details wrong since they were never built. The disadvantage is you have no references to work from except your imagination.

Bob, the contrails are raster. I usually use vector in the main subjects and raster for the landscapes or backgrounds.

    gray,
Your images always amaze me. You put an incredible amount of detail on the surfaces and always get that "painterly" look in your illustrations. The horizon curve and colors are gorgeous too. Another masterpiece!
    Congrats.
