Default Header text google webmaster tools

    Hi

I have a meta name to put into my <HEAD> from google webmaster how do I add it into the site?. I have a placeholder named head which has the code for my Favicon and that works, do I add this new line to that placeholder?

    thanks

    Hi Jamie

You could also add this manually once you have generated your index file using a text editor. But if you do this then you have to remember to do it every time you re-export your site.

I believe you can add the Google code to a placeholder also named head (I think it needs to have angle brackets around it) and set if off to the side on your home page.

    Have you tried this?

gwpriester is correct. Make an object to use as a placeholder, a small rectangle is fine. Highlight it and click on the little gold "name" icon on the toolbar and name it <head>. Then in Web Properties, Placeholder tab, put your code in the Replace With HTML Code area. Whatever you put there will now show up in the <head> area of your page.
