    Default 3D animations and Website

    Hi all,

I have become the question to put an animation on a website,
a donut spinning 3 times and every time it spun once a textline
rolls in underneat, after 3 lines it stops.

I tried it with a free 3d Programm, that is not good, now trying with
    Xara3d.

One basic question, filesizes for a demo animation 100 x 200 pix 24 fps and 72 frames vary from 353Kb for gif up to over 1 Mb for swf.
What would be the best compromise between quality and filesize?

Second, is Xara3D in combination with Xara Xtreme 5 pro fit for this?

    Thanks for any advise,
    Jan

Hi Jan, that's not easy to achieve. You can create the doughnut spinning in X3D but there's no way to stop it spinning after 3 rotations in X3D. The text could be a separate animation under the gif which is created in XX flash. You could possibly then lay the swf over the gif on the web page (I take it it's for the web) and have a still image of the doughnut eventually overlay the gif below but you couldn't guarantee the timing.

Generally animated gifs are far larger in size than a flash animations, but not always. The filesize you mention for a swf is very large indeed.

Thumbs down Re: 3D animations and Website

Using the [page break] you can introduce new images such as text.
I did try to upload an animated gif but it kept on converting it to a jpeg

    Flash version.

To stop it from looping, simply add a stop command.

If the gif exceeded any of the upload rectrictions, the system automatically converts to a compressed JPG rather than rejecting it entirely.
