    Default Page background

Having trouble changing webpage background. All other other pages are ok.
Page layer shows as "Page background (2)"

Tried to drop colour on to page but there is no change in preview. Preview shows no background.

    Any advice please?

Ted are you ctrl+Drag'n'drop a color to the 'page' background (the default white area) or are you drawing a rectangle page background and changing this?

Much thanks Sledger. CTL Drag did the trick. I find the using the program so trouble free that I sometimes forget these little little things.

Out of interest, is there a way to change the background colour for the area outside of your website in XWD?

As I'd like the page background to be one colour and the outer areas to be another? I couldn't find any information in the help guide but it does refer to the outer region as 'background' and the website background as 'panel'.

    Thanks for any help.

The above method does exactly that. If you want a different colour for the foreground you can create a rectangle with the desired colour.

Aha! Perfect, I had been using this as the web page itself and working straight onto this panel. I didn't realise that encompassed the whole background and a new panel using the drawing tool should be used.

    This now works perfectly. Thanks!!

You can import a tile-able patterned bitmap to the page, delete it then open the bitmap gallery, select it and choose 'Background' from the gallery button.
Also the Fills gallery has some supplied bitmaps you can use.
You can also ctrl+Drag'n'drop from the bitmap gallery (or fills gallery)
