First website in XXP5 loads very slow

Hi everybody, I'm creating my first XXP5 website, but although it loads ok (a bit slow) in my browsers, the client complains it's loading very slow on her computers. Here's the URL http://www.legumesetcompagnie.fr/index.htm The background image is in a low resolution. Can anybody explain to me why this is happening ?

What is your client's connect speed?

The website loaded in about 4 seconds for me. I'm on a 1.5MB dsl connection.

I download the page and found that all the image files are in PNG format
I guess you didnt tweak the export image format in your page editing，
change the exported photo images to jpg format might reduce 100-200kb
of the page

My client has a slow internet connection, but now the page loads
a lot faster

The problem with converting every image to jpg (no transparency) is the quality's not as good and in the process a lot of your text has become just part of an image and therefore not searchable by Search Engines. I don't think the savings were that great either Marcia, the site downloaded very quickly previously.
