    Red face the question about select texts in IE6

    I use Xara X5 to creat a page.
    There is a problem that I can's select the texts accurately in IE6 browser.

    I did some test find that the problem is in the default.css file.
    In the CSS file defined these rules

    .xr_tl {position: absolute; white-space: pre; unicode-bidi:bidi-override;}
    .xr_ap {position: absolute; border:none;}

    this 'position: absolute'

    cause the text select problem in IE6,
    but when I change the 'absolute' paramater to other options as ‘fixed’ 'static'.... will make the texts be free selected
    but the whole page are disordered.

    can any body help with this !! THX

    Succinct, concise, with much brevity and economy.

    You mean the IE6 compatibility is abandoned,
    and the page's problem in IE6 won't be solved in the future Xara X or WD's update?

    In not so many words, I believe this is precisely what John was saying.
    I'd also strongly suggest to anyone that serious consideration be given to abandoning IE6 themselves. There are, quite simply, compelling reasons to do so.

    I know that the IE6 must die,but actually it still lives well,
    and I believe that there are still lots of people using it.

    I dont think its time to abandon the IE6's compatibility.

    There's not much we can do about it. This is one of the side effects of using absolutely positioned text to get as WYSIWYG result as possible.
    Sorry about it.
    If it is so important to you, I would suggest using non WYSIWYG text.
    Either insert your text with a code placeholder or simply use fully justified text.
