    Default CD cover - Critique?

    Hey folks,

I'm close to the release of an electronica (progressive trance) track that's somewhat important to me, and currently designing the booklet. I was thinking of a rather 'clean' look this time (for a change).

The track is called 'August' - the artist name and logotype ([instinctive.]) as well as the label logo are not changeable (well, though the colour would be...).

Any suggestions? I'm not sure if I've produced total crap, or if it's actually acceptable

I've attached one version without the water ripples and one with - seems to be an interesting addition to me. I've also attached the xar should anyone want to play around

I like them! A touch more colour perhaps, seeing as you said we could play with it

    I like them too!
Personally I would like to see more color instead of the gray image.
This is only a suggestion mind you but I did play around with the color a little, and this is what I came up with. It seems to have a bit more punch and the name "august" stands out.

Never give up. You will never fail, but you may find a lot of ways that don't work.

Hey, I actually tried that too I'm not sure why I'm after that 'clean' look though this time - whatever, that's why I left it in B/W

It's just that the image appears not very 'trancey' to me [personal opinion ... hope you don't mind ] Another go, negative ...

I don't mind Yeah, I had something like that in mind, too. But well, I 'dedicated' this track to that month (strange, I know...), and it's hard to find a picture that matches a month

(In general though, the consensus seems to be that the ripples are good!

Yers, Definitely stick with the ripples (as opposed to no ripples!)

Where I live, it's half sun, half rain, oh, and green fields (the photo was taken with my cellphoen cam when I was enjoying life this summer)

Don't complain about the UKish weather... I live in the Sauerland area in Germany, which is INFAMOUS for its rain (twice the average of Germany)
