meta name="XAR jpegs"?

Hi,

Can someone tell me what is the function or purpose of
the following meta tags that are present in all webpages that
were generated by Xara Web Designer?

<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=7"/>
<meta name="XAR jpegs" content="5"/>
<meta name="XAR pngs" content="144"/>
<meta name="XAR Pages" content="9"/>
<meta name="XAR Page 1" content="index.htm"/>

I don't think IE or Firefox or search engines care about this stuff, so I was just wondering.

Yes.

<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=7"/>

This is for IE8. Without it, some features would work incorrectly in this version of the browser. All other browsers ignore it.

These elements are ignored by all browsers. They are used by Xtreme/WD when you re-export or export over the previously exported site. They allow us to correctly remove all previously exported files and use correct names for the new ones.

If my start page was something other than index.htm, how would these meta tags work?

ie:index.html or name.htm?

Would these be automatically put into the code or would you do this manually?

These elements are created by the filter.
I would suggest not alter them manually.
