    Default Publishing to several sites

I'm currently running three sites, each of which requires fairly frequent updating and therefore each time I change sites, I need to:

    a) open the correct *.web file and after making the changes save it.
    b) remember to change the directory when I export it if it's not the same web site on which I last worked.
    c) remember to change the publish details in website properties.
Needless to say on the odd occasion I've screwed up and added a whole bunch of files from one of my sites to another.

Is there any way of updating b) and c) when I load up the site?
    Many thanks

    Not yet.
We're assuming they are working on some sort of "publish info" grid where you can set them up and pick which one to update.

Info Re: Publishing to several sites

    Welcome to TalkGraphics Alan

At the present the FTP info is not saved with the file. No question that not having to enter new FTP info every time you change sites would be desirable and I would look to see this feature included in upcoming versions.

What I do to make my life easier is to use another FTP application to get my files uploaded to the server. I create a folder on my desktop, publish to the folder and then FTP the files from the folder to the server.

It is an extra step, but since it all evens out in the balance.

You know you can setup an FTP folder as a network drive from your computer.
In this way you can create your different FTP destinations as separate folders in Windows Explorer.
Uploading files is then simply a matter of copying files to the correct folder.

Name:	FTP-folder.png
Views:	113
Size:	4.9 KB
ID:	66223

    1. From the desktop, click on Start and then Computer.
    2. Then, click on Map Network Drive.
    3. From that screen, click Connect to a Web site that you can use to store your documents and pictures, and then click Next.
    4. Click Choose a custom network location, and then click Next.
    5. Enter the following in the Internet or network address field:

    Example: "ftp://ftp.yourdomain.com"

    6. Enter your ftp username and password when prompted.

    Thanks for the help guys.
I've used filezilla and enabled the "overwrite if newer option" but it doesn't seem to save much time so until they update the web designer ftp, I'll just try to remember to check where the files are going to.
