    Default GLOBAL RULER POSITIONING...

    Hi there,

    [Using: XARA XTREME 5.0]

I often have say 20 pages for a website project open.

I have the same image repeated on every page.

I'd like to be able to bring out the Vertical Ruler to a certain point (Y-position) for every page - to act as a snap-to text-box margin.

Currently, I have to drag a ruler out on every single page, & spend time lining them up carefully, one page to the next - whereas if only the ruler could be 'infinitely' or at least very, very long (vertically) - it would be a lot better!!

    Any help appreciated!!

And thanks in advance, too - I don't get to log in that often!

    Tip ....
I assume you mean guides ... If you right click a guide, you can adjust it's position exactly, by typing in the required distance. That makes standardizing location easy.

(With help from the help files)

You can also use Repeat on all pages (Shift+Ctrl+Alt+R)
The selected object will be copied to to the same place on all pages. The command automatically creates an appropriate Repeating:AutoRepeat name and applies it to all copies, so from this point on it will be updated when you select Update repeating objects.

If you don't want it automatic, you could copy it from the first page and on subsequent pages use Paste in place (Ctrl+Shift+V)
The same as Paste, except your object will be pasted in the exact same position from which you copied it. This is useful for moving objects from one layer or page to another, without changing it's X/Y position.

    Also

If you start a new project and set all of your guide first, they will continue down on all new or duplicate pages.

    ss-kalm noted,

Right Click on the Guide you want to copy> Properties> Position:
    Copy

Goto the next page where you want the Guide and drag out a new Guide.
Right Click on the Guide> Properties> Position: paste

If Arif is thinking in the context of a master page, this is a feature other apps have and can be very useful.
