Might as well get another Taylor in on it. The more the merrier, as they say.

Karateed, if you follow Bob's (iamtheblues) tutorial you should wind up with something that looks like this:
    http://www.talkgraphics.com/picture....&pictureid=430

I take it that's what you're trying to do?

Way before Bob produced his excellent tutorial I found the two part instructions by Mike Sims (simsmj) to be a wonderful resource for showing how to create spinning objects in Xara 3D. It might be worth a look-see. Here are the links:

Making a bitmap logo spin in Xara3D Part 1
Making a bitmap logo spin in Xara3D Part 2

How about posting what you've come up with so far so we can help you along with your project.

Just trying to lend a hand,
    HayTay

Hi Bill and Bob (if you read this thread),

I'm sorry about that....my eyes get worse and worse as I get older and obviously my brain could use a bit of a boost as well. I guess that's what happens when you get a bit tired and work on fun stuff too.

    Hi Harry,

I'll have a look and see what that does. What I've got so far I'll post.

Thank you both so much for your help. What a great forum this is. A goofy blunder like this on some other sites and I'd be raked over the coals.

    Thanks again,

    Ed......:-)

    So far, so good, Ed.

It just looks like you need to adjust the background color to match your web site and text sides color to yellow. Then, after a final tweaking of the lights, you'll be ready to export your animation.

    Keep up the good work,
    Harry

    Hi Harry,

Thanks for the comments. I'll do the adjustments and have some more fun with X3D6. Sorry about the misspell of your name in the earlier thread, just caught it.

Here's the gif so far in 2 options.

Is there a way to get the background to stay stationary so only the graphic itself moves?

Ed, one way of doing this would be to copy/paste the shape in the attached xar file into X3D and apply your image as a texture, then set the X3D background colour to the required colour.

By the way is your avatar the Stanley Cup?

    Hi Egg,

I did do that.....I found that I had shadow turned on and that caused the problem. Once I turned shadow off, the graphic worked properly.

Yes, that is Lord Stanley's Cup.....Are you a hockey fan?

No. I can't stand it. Wrestling on Ice;-)

Up until this year our Channel 5 used to cover North American Sports including Hockey and I recall seeing the cup which must be the biggest sports trophy ever! Personally I love American Baseball, but due to the credit crunch 5's not covering it this year and I really miss it.

    Hi Egg,

Baseball was my first love in sports at the ripe old age of 5 or 6. Since then I've become a sports nut. I love hockey, football, both North American and off continent, baseball (just finished watching the Jays beat LAA) and most other sports.

Thanks for the help with the graphic, I think it's finally under control and doesn't look too bad if I say so myself.

Wow, that was one heavy-duty shadow you had going on there. Other than that I think you're on the home stretch.

You just need to make your export window size height a bit larger and you've got it.

Give yourself a big pat on the back!

Welcome to the spinning logo club (the few and the proud),
