    Hi Bill,

I don't know why but I didn't even think that the button wouldn't work without a link of some sort. Told you I probably had a senior moment.

So if there is no link, whatever it may be called it is never going to work....is that about right?

Thanks very much for your help with this.....

I will now of course have to manouver around all the grey matter in my room....you know, the stuff that came out when I was banging my head on my computer desk.

Yup, by naming links to what the buttons were called, it now works very well....thanks again Bill....it's a simple concept if one just remembers everything.

That works, but there's no need for a dummy link to see the mouseover effect.
Simply select the Popup layer: mouseover in the link dialog.

    Hi Sledger,

    That's awesome, now I've got 2 methods.

I see how that works and it helps me understand how these work a little better.

btw Bill, I've also finished your tutorial and all works well using your method for linking.

Thanks much to both of you.

I've just added the finished navbar with it's links (at least the dropdowns) actually going to the proper websites.

Once again, thanks so much for teaching me some interesting and useful Xara stuff that will be used down the road.
