Default Simple question about LOOPING ...

    Hi,

Can anyone explain to me why Xara3D will not accept the correct looping figure of '0' (zero) for a continuous loop ???

Every other gif program I've ever come across uses the zero (o) tag for a continuous loop yet when I try to set the looping option to '0' before exporting the gif animation it always defaults to '1' !

    This is very annoying !!!!!

    THanks

    Odin,

First of all, welcome to TalkGraphics.

Now to answer your question, I hope. To get continuous looping just uncheck the box for 'Loop' in the 'Animation Options' section. That should make your animation loop continuously for you.

    IHTH,

    EDIT:

hey Harry - you are right

As there is a static export option it does make sense - the animated option has to loop, or it 'aint animated

No problem. It happens to the best of us, at times. I'm glad I could help you get 'looped'. Now that you've joined the rest of us at TG, I hope to hear and see some more from you.

    Have some fun,
    Harry

    What about for SWF export.

Could someone hack the export in a Flash Editor to make continuous looping SWF.

Seems this should be an option in Xara3D ... unless I am missing something.

no expert me on flash - but I always understood flash looping to be set at the user end - your animation exported as flash loops in IE8 ok, provided I have it set that way in the browser....

I was thinking of embedding the flash into PowerPoint on the Title page, that is why I wanted it to continuously loop. I can do a GIF but doesn't display as well a flash.

Similarly, in other apps that allow embeddng a SWF, continous loop would be desireable.

    Hi John,

How about exported from Xara3D6 as an avi animation. You can specify you want it to loop within PowerPoint. In my tests the .avi is one fourth the size of a swf file from the same Xara3D6 file.

If you are using the Shockwave flash player ActiveX control in PowerPoint to play the swf file:

    1. Right click the ActiveX control.
    2. Click Properties in the popup menu.
    3. Set the Loop property to True.
