Default Blog embed problems with Google CustomRSS Gadget

    Hi,
I'm trying to embed a blog on my Web Designer page and had hoped it would be as simple as embedding the Google Gadget code into a placeholder object. When I do, however, I get at least three script errors (which don't happen on a blank page with the embedded script) and no scrollbar on the right side. Has anyone successfully embedded RSS/Blog text into their WebDesigner site? Please let me know how.

The embedded code is as follows:

    Code:
    <script src="http://www.gmodules.com/ig/ifr?url=http://customrss.googlepages.com/customrss.xml&amp;up_rssurl=http%3A%2F%2Fswhowie.wordpress.com%2Fcategory%2Ftechnology%2Ffeed%2F&amp;up_title=DaSH%20Blog&amp;up_titleurl=http%3A%2F%2Fswhowie.wordpress.com&amp;up_num_entries=15&amp;up_linkaction=showdescription&amp;up_background=EEEEEE&amp;up_border=CCCCCC&amp;up_round=1&amp;up_fontfamily=Arial&amp;up_fontsize=12px&amp;up_openfontsize=9pt&amp;up_itempadding=5px&amp;up_bullet=bull&amp;up_custicon=Overrides%20favicon.ico&amp;up_boxicon=0&amp;up_opacity=20&amp;up_itemlinkcolor=000000&amp;up_itemlinkweight=Normal&amp;up_itemlinkdecoration=None&amp;up_vlinkcolor=C7CFA8&amp;up_vlinkweight=Normal&amp;up_vlinkdecoration=None&amp;up_showdate=1&amp;up_datecolor=9F9F9F&amp;up_tcolor=1C57A9&amp;up_thighlight=FFF19D&amp;up_desclinkcolor=1B5790&amp;up_color=000000&amp;up_dback=FFFFFF&amp;up_dborder=DFCE6F&amp;up_desclinkweight=Bold&amp;up_desclinkdecoration=None&amp;synd=open&amp;w=364&amp;h=168&amp;title=DaSH+Technology+Blog&amp;border=%23ffffff%7C3px%2C1px+solid+%23999999&amp;output=js"></script>
    Thanks in advance!

I tried pasting the script into a text file in NetObjects Fusion and it comes up incomplete. There is a text entry window and a google gadget button but nothing else that would allow me to interact.

I wonder if you should try another gadget or just create a Blogspot (Google) blog and link to it from your website.

    Hi Showie,

I too couldn't get your script to work - but I found another RSS gadget that works nicely for multiple feeds in a tabbed window.

    See it here

Thanks, sledger. Will that embed in a Web Designer page? I'm not sure how to get the code for it...

sledger, I see a reference to rss.htm, but I don't see the page anywhere. Is that a sample page? Sorry, I think I'm missing something here as I see only the rss.xar file.

    Thanks

    Ooops

    Sorry about that.

Paste this into a text file and rename it rss.htm.
Open the rss.xar, export to html and then place the rss.htm into the root folder along with index.htm.

    HTML Code:
    <script src="http://www.gmodules.com/ig/ifr?url=http://hosting.gmodules.com/ig/gadgets/file/107002920557364654966/my-tab.xml&amp;up_entries=4&amp;up_summaries=100&amp;up_title=Tab%20RSS&amp;up_titleurl=Showie%20Wordpress&amp;up_feedname1=Showie%20Entries&amp;up_feed1=http%3A%2F%2Fswhowie.wordpress.com%2Ffeed%2F&amp;up_feedname2=Showie%20Comments&amp;up_feed2=http%3A%2F%2Fswhowie.wordpress.com%2Fcomments%2Ffeed%2F&amp;up_feedname3=&amp;up_feed3=&amp;up_feedname4=&amp;up_feed4=&amp;up_feedname5=&amp;up_feed5=&amp;up_feedname6=&amp;up_feed6=&amp;up_feedname7=&amp;up_feed7=&amp;up_selectedTab=&amp;synd=open&amp;w=380&amp;h=400&amp;title=&amp;border=%23ffffff%7C3px%2C1px+solid+%23999999&amp;output=js"></script>
This by the way is your Entries (RSS) and Comments (RSS) feed each under their own tab and working fine *online* (IE will give errors when run locally).
