Default A font that crashes Xara 5

As soon I select this font named "Dirty Ames" Xara crashes here. Is it only on my machine?

The font takes ages to display in the windows font viewer and requires excessive amount of processor time to do so.

Too many nodes and path changes is my guess as to a cause.

    Hi Xcellent,

I tried it in XX5 and XX3.2 got the same results from both versions, so it isn't XX5.
So I tried it with Microsoft Word and it worked but not very well(very slow). Didn't try it with any other apps.

You might look at Emporium Capitals and Extra Ornamenl No2 and Ornamental Initials L to see if any of these will meet your needs. They are not the same as dirty ames but they are ornamental fonts. It's just a thought

    http://www.fontstock.net/12720/ornam...nitials-l.html
    http://theroxor.com/2009/05/13/10-be...organic-fonts/

I tried all of these and all work well in XX5. All are free fonts just in case you are wondering. I did not download from these sites since I already had them on my machine, but I did find download links and checked them on McAfee site advisor.

Thanks everyone, good to hear it's not only crashing on me. I tested the font only in Xara myself. It seems only this font causes trouble in various programs.

Thanks wizard509 for your other font suggestions. I was looking after some grudgy font and ended up working with the font Trashed.
