    Unhappy XWD Huge problem!!

    I have created a site with 36 pages, but now when I try to open it for editing in XWD, it just hangs on 40%. Can anyone tell me why this is happening?? I was supposed to have this site done by tomorrow, now XWD won't even load it, it just sets there...

    In desperate need of help.....

    Can't tell you why it's happening except to state the obvious that XWD has encountered a problem with something contained in the .web file.

    You could try using ExpandXar (rename the .web to .xar to use expandxar)

    If command line stuff isn't for your, there's a front-end UI for it here.

    Sledger,

    I am going to try the xapander software, but I just wanted to let you know that sometimes the site will open and other times it wont and then other times it just gets stuck on adding colors to document, but then stays there and wont finish loading, but as of the last 32 attempts to open it, it will not open.

    Sledger,

    I just used the expander software and it reported no erros.

    OK - now that it has been expanded, does it open with XWD without problems?

    Sledger,

    I used the expander, renamed my web file to xar and clicked expand, it just came up and said it had no errors, that was it. I tried loading the exact same file back into XWD and it sets on adding colors and will not go past that point. Did the expander create a different file for me to try or??

    Yes!

    For example, the command line syntax of;
    expandxar inputfilename.xar outputfilename.xar
    will create a file named outputfilename.xar
    Loading your 'original' file back into Web Designer will not be any different to loading it before using expandxar.

    I used expanxar and looked at the output filename and location and it doesn't do anything. It states there were no errors and thats it. It doesn't create a new file at all.
