Are Photopaint's brushes pressure sensitive? How come I can't get it to respond to my tablet? No variations, just uniform width.

    Hey Graf,

Got your fix right here! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

I went through all this kinda crap in P-P 11 and while Corel got the sticky stuff taken care of in P-P 12 (when taking the stylus off of the work area it kept on drawing, I think you remember that) they totally messed up in the stylus pressure area. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif

    Go here:

Cocuments and SettingsYour User NameApplication DataCorelGraphics12User ConfigPenTab.ini and change the first number from....

    [Config]
    Min Pressure=<span class="ev_code_BLUE">338</span>
    Max Pressure=409
    to

    [Config]
    Min Pressure=<span class="ev_code_BLUE">4</span>
    Max Pressure=409

I found that working with a "0" value caused the smaller brushes to not work unless allot of pressure is applied with the stylus. So a nice even 4 seems to be just right for my needs. Hope it helps you out!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Invoke PP and you SHOULD be able to create a nice variable line like what you see below. No sticking either! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

One new thing I DO notice this only seems to affec the "quick doodler" brush. The other brushes seem to be at a set pressure!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

I'd be interested to hear about your findings Graf! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

You're right, Richard. Only the quick doodle brush seems to be pressure sensitive. Don't these people use the stuff they make? I rarely use Photopaint because it seems too clunky. Like for example, some effects need to be masked first, so this dialog box pops up and tells you. Why don't it automatically make one, instead of telling you to do it manually? Thanks for taking the time for this one, though.

I still love PhotoPaint and I think that version 12, while there are not TOO many added features, is really much better than the last release. Faster, more stable are two of the larger improvements. Hopefully the "Lucky 13" release will see PhotoPaint greatly enhanced and improved upon.

Glad to help when I can! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

I still think it's a crime to ask people to pay just to beta test buggy softwares. And keep them praying for the next version. But that seems to be the industry standard started by Mr.B.G.. As long as it earns money, I guess.
