    Default Transparency Problem

I select the rectangle or elipse and use the tansparency tool. But when I create another rectangle or elipse it always shows up with a transparency or fill arrow.

This always happens when I start the program as well. I have the "Give New Objects most recent attributes UNCHECKED.

I use a workaround of just selecting the rectangle and then give it a solid color... which I wanted in the first place.

I uninstalled and reinstalled this on XP-Vista-Windows7 and it still happens everytime.

How do I resolve this annoying dilemma ????

    you could try this:

make sure that 'Ask before setting current attribute' is ticked in xtreme

do you have the XREG utility?

[if not you can download it from here: http://www.xaraxone.com/html/shareware.html]

if xtreme is open close it then open XREG and in the general tab > general options make sure that 'Transparency Becomes Current' is not ticked

    close XREG and open xtreme

with nothing selected click on a color on the color bar, it should ask if you wish to set this as current attribute - click 'set'

your new objects should now have this color as fill.. by default

    Talking Resolved

Handdrawn... this problem was solved. Thanks. I upgraded from ver 4 thinking the problem would disappear and even submitted tickets to Xara about the problem... they didn't resolve the issue the way I explained the problem.

    Thanks again Handrawn
