OK I was intrigued with this photo of a wine bottle I saw in an ad. So I figured out a way to recreate the image. And I thought it would make a good tutorial (35 steps). I sent the finished image to a friend who pointed out something that I as a former California wine country resident should have known from the start, Bordeaux style wines such as Cabernet and Merlot are always bottled in Bordeaux style bottles, the ones with the tall shoulder.

Burgundy wine, for example, Pinot Noir, goes in the bottle with the elegant sloping shoulder, and the one into which I have added my Cabernet Sauvignon.

Aside from this I am pleased with how the tutorial turned out.

Here's another technique for creating the reflection.

I sliced a section of an image. Blended the sections then applied the blend to a path. It made a credible distortion.
