    Default Missing you...

My wife recently returned from England with her father and his old (our new) car. Because this was one of those rare occasions when there were no weight restrictions on what they could bring back,
the car was packed with hard-to-get goodies that cost an arm and a leg in Spain. Lots of Indian spices and things like jars of Marmite, minced coriander, Robertson's blackcurrant jam (jelly),
Weetabix, Shreddies, Cadbury's dairy milk chocolate plus a Powerpack battery pack and other goodies too numerous to mention.

For me the highlight was a pack of Marstons Pedigree Ale and some mature cheddar cheese....bliss!
Having my first taste of the beer and cheese today made me feel slightly homesick. Not for the UK particularly, as I only too pleased to leave it, but for the "Englishness" of certain things
that remind me of what a lovely country it used to be.
    5 day cricket matches
    The Cotswold Hills
    Indian Restaurants
    Live Blues Music and...
    not much else.

So, what we need to know is if you have moved away from somewhere you loved, not neccessarily abroad, and there are certain things you can no longer obtain,
or visit, we'd like to know what they are. Post a graphic if you feel inclined, I'm sure we would love to see it.
The attached was all created in Xara Xtreme and was pure vector.
    Saludos,
    Bob.

I must admit that I thought that was a photograph at first....excellent render!

I still live in the midwestern part of the United States, so I am not missing anything I've never had. I can imagine, though, how enjoying something from one's past can make you feel content and happy. I'll have some beer and cheese and raise a glass to you Bob

A wonderful story and a wonderful graphic Bob. It looks very realistic and now it has me wanting to try such a combination of ale and cheddar cheese. That cheese looks very real.
I miss living in Flagstaff , northern Arizona. I am tired of living in the big city and in the desert. The only thing keeping me here right now is my job. If the job goes away then I am thinking of relocation to Flagstaff. I miss the mountains and the cool pines. the trees and the cool weather and the changing of the seasons. These are things we do not see in here in the desert.

that cheese does look good Bob, and you have good taste in beer

one thing I miss is the old [and I mean old] Quad amp with KT66 output

KT66's to original MOV/GEC spec are back on the market at around £35 a time...... one of these days I'm going to dig out the soldering iron again.. if I ever get the time....

Clearly, that should have been "proper". How improper of me.

Yep I know how that feels, I lived in the states for a year and I missed
my Gouda cheese, among other things, and where I lived they had those
cheese slices wrapped in cellofane. It said, contains 10% cheese.
But I had to be honest for grilled cheese sandwiches they were actually okay.

And now that I live in my own counrtry I miss the real donuts again.
    That is how live is
be aware, not to become a ware.
